we are going to buy a AT210 Carina - Manual transmission very soon

but there are several trim levels in AT210. which are GT , Si and Ti MyRoad

which is the best trim level ? more sporty ?

what are the difference between AT210 and AT212 ?

AT210 Carina GT came with 1.6L or 1.8L engine or both engines are available ?

please help and thanks in advance. . . .

AFAIK AT210 is GT which has a 1.6l engine, AT211 is Si which has a 1.8l engine and AT212 is Ti which has a 1.5l engine. But there are other variants too http://specs.cars-directory.net/toyota/carina/1996_654/. My Road has more options such as 3 head rests in the back seat, reading lamps, climate control AC etc. But some has even more options like illuminated dash board, teak panels, body kit with spoiler etc. If you do a search in this forum you can find a lot more info about the carina. :)

good decision carina is a one of the best car at it's range.

AT210 is carina gt frame number if it's a carina Si frame number is AT211 if it's a carina ti frame number is AT212.

best trim levels are Ti Myroad,Si G selection and the sporty one is carina GT.

i have answer it previously.

AT210 carina GT only comes with 1.6 4A-GE black top engine if it's a 1.8 it is a carina Si.

Hey sorry for bringing up an old thread

anyone knows the fuel economy of Carina Ti(1.5) and Carina Si(1.8)? im referring to the face lift ones

carina 1.5 will do around 9-10kmpl in city and in outstations it will do around 13kmpl some times if you are very careful it will hit 15kmpl

I have used Carina s(1.5l, both facelift model & the old one). But still couldn't get 10kmpl in city limits. Maximum I have reached is 9. It goes down to 8 in aggressive driving. Outstations it will do more than 15 & sometimes even it hits 16 in coastal line & highway. But does only 12 in upcountry.

When it comes to GT the values are differ. 7-8 in city limits, 13-14 in coastal outstation & just above 11 in upcountry driving. This is my experience.

Haven't owned a 1.8l, but have driven it. Not sure the consumptions. Only thing that I can say is 1.8 is fairly ahead than 1.5 in pulling power(which is obvious).

GT is sport Version.it came 1.6 or 2 l.

Uhh..the T210 series GT came ONLY in 1.6ltr form with a 4a-ge engine. The last time a Carina GT had a 2000cc engine was in the early 1980s in the A60 series GT range.

But thanks for reviving a dead thread...
