I woke up this morning with a tweet from speedhunters. The production version of the Toyota FT-86 has been finally unveiled. Excuse the over excitement but this is probably the most important toyota in recent times and the purest driver oriented toyota in decades

Glad Toyota inserted a proper engine and not made it a Hybrid to keep the environ-mentals happy...look and learn Honda!You messed up with CR-Z.

What about the 2000GT and the Supras?...But compared to the everyday Corrollas and other crap,yes,this does look way better.

Too bad we'll hardly see any here.

I did some research on how much it'll cost to bring one down sometime back. sources said it'll be a 2 mil Yen car. but realistically with some options i guess it'll be in the 2.5-3 mil range. So that's a 2 litre sports car, and both importers I spoke to said i'm looking at a total cost of 11.5-12 million after tax. Correct me if i'm wrong but with the way our tax system works we are missing out on some really good affordable cars.

this is a properly beautiful car from japan indeed

but i cant help but thinking it looks a bit like the Lexus LFA

that said, it seriously look nice. Personally, better looking than the Honda CRZ Mugen RR (which was for me the best looking Japanese hatch)

Yes FT-86 and Subaru BRZ STi is a joint Toyota and Subaru project.Car will be in market as Subaru Scion and Toyota.

High powered version supposed to be for the JDM market. In the US this will be under Scion as a FR-S. Production version is in the 2,600 lb range.
