Increasing Rear Ground Clearance

Pls tell me, how to increase rear-ground clearance without replacing the coils of a car?

What's the car and why this is required? Reason is manufacturer keeps a ground clearence considering the down force and the 'lift' it creates when cruising in high speeds specially. Lifting a car too much might have it's adverse impacts towards stability.

Since you asked the way, it's usually being done by adding a metal "plate" (i'd rather say small cylinder type of lathed metal peice) between the top of the coil and the body of the car. You will have to change the bolts to a lengthier ones along with this. Have seen some people does it using wooden (yes, wooden) peice as well. This is not advisable as time to time you have to tigten the bolts and wooden material can suppress/compress when a pressure is being applied.

Usual costs involved in this can vary by the quality of the metal piece and the place where you get this done. Heard the prices varying from 7k to 15k for both sides.

If you ask, how I have gained the ground clearence of my UK spec 406, which usually has a lower ground clearence, I've installed 205/65R15 tires.

my car is lancer cb3, l want to increas rear ground clearence only for good looking.

ur better off changing to bigger wheels.

for both front and rear tyres..

there is a Lancer CB3 of my collage mate and he has stock alloys..

the car sits very low. everytime he enter clg premisses the underneath get scratched.

so my advice better go for a bitter rim size.. from 13- 14 maybe

When I just bought my Ti, (to be honest my automotive knowledge was very less those days), there was a vibration in the vehicle when it I was accelerating the car. I strongly felt that the car was wagging from right to left and heavy body roll whilst cornering with creaks .Showed to many makabasses and they tried to replace every damn thing, incl. the gear box where I thought things should stop.

One of my friends who happend to be an automotive guy overseas came down and I casually mentioned the problem, The first thing he noted was the abnormal ground clearence of the Ti with 14" rims and he dismantled one side to take a look at the shocks again , just to find out that a plate was placed between the coil and the body. Removed the damn four pieces and the car was running very smoothly.

Don't do this damn plate thingy, it ruins the car. use larger rims.
