Hi All,

Please advice me out of the above models which is more suitable for sri lankan roads.

I would like know this in terms of maintainability, fuel consumption, comfort and safety.

Also lots of ppl worry about Toyota is the only one has a resale value. Please comment that too.

Thanks

Fernando

Most of the Terios's in this country are brand new imported by Softlogic. If it is a recon (JDM version of terios is known as Bego), then what Watchman and Komi said are true.

Brand new imported Terios's have the following differences from Toyota Rush. Please note that this is a Softlogic marketing document, so take it with a pinch of salt

I was under the impression that both of these were 4WD, You learn something new everyday. :)As for the rest, machang the 'pinch' of salt is an understatement... hehehe!!!

But ultimately I doubt the parent company would appreciate agents trying to cannibalize the its own market by highlighting the Toyota counterpart's faults/con like this.

1. Buy a terios

2. Remove all badges

3. Put rush badges

4. Sell as rush at higher value

5. Rpt and get rich

.... Problem?

Yup as watchman said, same thing. Like the Subaru BRZ and Toyota gt 86.

Why didnt i think of that?

Ouch! More like a bucket of salt! Apparently in terios-land, dunlops are better than toyos, keyless ignitiIons malfunction and the same engine doesn't work on 90 octane when Toyota badges it.

And as for aftermarket value, b*tch please!!

Hi....I have used a Dihatsu Teriose 2008 model.

The vehicle is ok. But it is just a basic vehicle with p/Shutter, P/Mirros and central Locking though it was a fully loaded when compared with a JDM model when compared to Rush . Rush has Winkler mirrors, TV navi , Climate control A/C, Leg break (not hand break) while teriose has normal hand break

I used it for 35,000km did not give big trouble though there was a leak in the ATF Sump when I took it to Agnets they found that the packing was not fit properly.

Safety on teriose id good.I can see 2 ari bags on dash board tought it says 8-Airbags. May be there are. ABS..HAC, DAC ,(VSC, LSD - are avilable only on teriose - not on Rush)

Teriose is 4WD and Rush is 2WD. Bego is the JDM of Teriose 4WD.

about the Steering issue with Rush yes I have to accept that it is true B'coz there were many Toyota Rush @soft_logic for steering repair when i enquired they said that some Rubber seal is going out of order in them...no clear information tough.

Terouse was not very comfy on normal road, Steering was a bit rough. the A/C is not as cool as on JDM vehicle. Now of course as I heard that new teriose has the same as JDM rush A/C.

Finally I can't support Teriose when it comes to the fuel consumption of about 7-8km/l with 1500cc engine. this is unforgivable.

But as I heard that Rush has much softer suspension and EPS which makes the vehicle much much more comfy with an added resale value.

Just GoogleCross over’s and SUV'S. Dihatsu teriose is a cross over while the Rush is a SUV. Bt plz remember Cross over’s and SUV are two different categories where Cross over focuses on heavy duty rough roads and SUV is of similar to new version of Station wagon comfy and to be used on good road conditions what we mostly will be using a vehical for.

I thought I learnt something new too ! But I just checked the toyota site and the Rush comes in both FullTime 4WD and 2WD variants

as far as i know, its compulsary in the Rush to use 95oct petrol and the for the Terios 90oct can be used..

this is just what i have heard before. not sure about it

If it's the same engine in both, then why does it matter? It's not like putting on a different badge would suddenly change the compression ratios.

yes you are rigth.

Dihatsu Teriose also requires octane 95 or Euro (93) octane. Dihatsu Manual says 93 octane or Higher.

I used only 95 octane. But local agent says 90 octane is also fine.

True. Finding a 4WD Rush similar to finding a Toyota Axio/Corolla 4WD. Yes this is avilable. But it is very uncommon.

Well I guess the rareness makes it more expensive too ? the 4WD Rushes ? Rushies ? <how do you pluralise Rush ?> is almost as expensive as a RAV4 ? and the later would be a better choice unless you are more in to fuel economy. Saw a 2006 4wd for sale and it was 1.3 million yen...and I got my 2007 RAV4 for a little less than 1.5 million yen...

4WD Axio.... uhh...if..uhh...yeah....uhh....if the Evo and the WRX can so can a Corolla...uhhh...yeah...uhh...yeah..RUSH...4wd...rare...and expensive...
