N16 Bluebird Sylphy

Hi All,

I bought a Nissan N16 Bluebird Sylphy auto car recently. I love the interior, handling, performance, etc. Before starting my journey I have done the initial services for safe side like oil changing, break and shock checkup.

It's doing 10-11 km/l out station. I still didn't do a injector cleanup or any thing related to increasing fuel efficiency. Is this figure ok or just for that do I need to go for a injector cleanup? Also how much it will cost roughly? This is 1800cc engine.

Thanks,

highfive

Wellcome to the forum and congtrz on your buy.

N16 Sylphy 1800 is very good reliable car with good interior which i too loved. i have used one for a while few months back and it has enough power to move very quickly.when it comes to fuel it doenst give any high numbers like others in the same range but 10-12 easily can get in long distance.

is this have triptronic gears? have you received any repair\service details from previous owner?

fully engine tune up will cover injector cleaning as well whcih cost around 15-20k with some parts replacements. EFI tune up only will cost around 5-7K.

Also do a search in the forum. you can find lot of informations About this car.

Thanks mahesh :)

This is not a triptronic one. And no any previous service records :sad-smiley-066: . Before using my self I did the general services and had a run just to see how it's doing. It's doing well as I expected. I'm just thinking if the fuel consumption figures are odd, to have a engine tune up. Because one of my friends who is having the same spec car asked me to do a injector clean at the beginning so that I'm fully confident to have a long heavy run for a long time.

Please get the ATF fluid changed at a specialist or at the agent. You would probably notice a difference in fuel efficiency.

and ask them to remove the sump and clean the oil strainer. You never know the last time these were cleaned. :)

I think he has done a general service.

If you did a complete service, i.e. Engine oil change, Transmission oil change, (Break oil, power steering oil if necessary) I suggest run the car sometime. Then you can figure out what to do.

For en engine tuneup see the below thread.

Thought to share my experienced figures so that it would help any other in the community. It's doing around 11kmpl out station. I think this is the average for this car. The good news is I went Matara with 6 people inside and that was 14.5kmpl. I think that's because it's almost flat road driving and very less traffic.

Is this after the injector cleaning/tune up thing ?

Oh sorry, forgot to mention about that. No, I thought of driving the car for a while and if it's giving very low performance then only touch the injectors and engine. So still I haven't done an engine tune up or injector cleanup. Did only a general service for a newly bought 2nd hand such as ATF changing, sump oil strainer cleaning, engine oil changing, etc.
