What suits my need

11 posts in this topic

Hi All,

Hope everyone is doing good, Need some ideas to get the best for my need. I had the intention of buying a SL assembled Hilux SURF, I have sold my 2011 Hilux in SL and idea turned into  custard now as the company operations seised. Now no other options but getting a good truck.

We had some issue with D4D engine mainly related to fuel (may be due to low fuel quality in SL) was fitted with 2 filters. Had to spend fair bit of money on fuel pump and injectors put the D4D Hilux as my last option.

List of trucks in my mind:

TOYOTA Hilux LN166/ 167R fitted with 3L, 5L or 1KZ if available in SL

Mitsubishi L200 - 2008 model 2.5 or 3.2 Please let me pros and cons on this 2 engines.

Nissan Navara D40 ???????I know nothing about this model so please pass your idea

Still if i have no option i would consider a Hilux D4D

Requirment:

Normal day to day stuff

Visit 2 remote lands once a month

Off roading

Please share your ideas and experience,

I would really like to get a LN166 or 167 but they getting closer to 20 years mark and not sure the parts.

 Thank you

JC

Need some help to source the top glove box lock, It's next to impossible to find a good one. Wreckers asking $$$ for the lock and the lid.

Brothers in AUS please do let me if you could find a one for me. Here in NZ it is bit hard and most of the models fitted with an passenger airbag making it even harder to find.

regards

JC
